While newer platforms like TikTok and features like Reels are getting a lot of attention in 2021, Instagram Stories continue to be one of the best ways to communicate with your audience. Today we’re sharing 5 tips to increasing your reach and engagement when creating and sharing Instagram Stories.

Tip #1: Create Attention-Grabbing Slides

While your Story slides don’t have to be as polished as your Instagram Feed posts, they still need to grab the attention of the viewer. You can do this with a graphic and/or the first few words you speak during the story!

Tip #2: Use Geolocations For Each Slide

If you have a physical store location, you can tag the city your store is located in and surrounding areas. If your business is mostly online, use geolocations that your ideal customer would be using.

Tip #3: Utilize Instagram Story Stickers

Not only will utilizing Stickers encourage your audience to engage with your content, Instagram rewards accounts that actively use the available features, pushing your content out to more people. At least once a day include one of the following stickers in your Story: Poll, Questions, Countdown, Slider, or Quiz.

Tip #4: Use Hashtags & Hide Them

While including niche hashtags in your Instagram Stories is one of the best ways to get new eyes on your content, posting too many on one slide can be an eyesore. To avoid this, you can hide the hashtags by shrinking them to a smaller size OR by hiding them behind a photo or GIF.

Tip #5: Create An Ongoing Story Strategy

One of the best ways to create a consistent Instagram Stories strategy is by choosing certain days of the week to showcase different aspects of your business. For example: On Mondays, you can show the orders your packing/shipping out from the weekend. On Tuesdays, you can highlight another team member. On Wednesdays, you can do a Q&A. Creating a reoccurring series gets your audience excited to see what new content you’ll share next week! They’ll look forward to this type of content.

PS: Make sure it’s a series you can commit to! Even if it’s just one or two days a week!
